The second in a series of performances that seek to explore (post)modern attitudes towards death and postemotionalism.   The artist will be exploring her own emotions towards these subjects with the help of a symbolic body, recreating an atmosphere that uses the power of memory to promote emotional unburdening. Organised Fruit Crime is the fastest growing illegal industry in Britain today, with the Mafia even going so far as to put GM daffodil genes into carrots to make them yellow, so that they can be sold as bananas. Luckily for the public however, Fruit And Veg Squad (FAVS), Europe's most highly decorated Fresh Produce Protection Unit are on the case, headed by none other than living legend Clachan Shanda AKA The Cabbage Patch Doll. Today YOU have the chance to see him and the FAVS team in action, as they attend to the scene of a mysterious burglary at The Green Grocers on 41-42 Granville Arcade.

Friday 15.1                      4WALLS

4Walls will present work by South London artist Marie Smith.  Smith will use the shop space to exhibit sculpture, drawings and posters.  Her work explores black culture and imagery in relation to her own identity, alongside the modern meaning of self.  As well as black and white posters Smith will be exhibiting a hair sculpture made from her own hair and wax.
This exhibition is part of an ongoing project called 'Test Ground' where members of 4Walls exhibit their work to be critiqued and discussed by others.  From 4 - 5 pm a discussion about the work exhibited will take place with members of 4Walls and a guest speaker (to be confirmed).  This will be open to the public and members of the community to participate in, or to simply watch the discussion.
4Walls is a project and community of 'pre-emerging' artists that aims to support ourselves and others at a point in our careers when we are post art eduaction and prior to having gallery recognition. During this time work, ideas and confidence are all radically fluctuating and developing whilst at the same time there is a contant struggle and pressure to survive financially as an artist.

4Walls is an experimental project that currently operates through 'Crit Group', 'Test Ground' and group exhibitions in order to address these issues.

Spaces Between ( The Scatter Collective)

The Scatter Collective are hosting a tea party!

We are currently devising a piece of verbatim theatre  based on a series of interviews with a cross section of the London public. We are exploring issues of mental health. Why are we so afraid to discuss head space in open space? We would like our tea party guests to share their thoughts over tea, cakes and a spot of performance.

Touch It 3 will explore boundaries that exist in Film between screen and audience, fiction and reality; the void, the 3rd eye. We will look at this specifically through VHS – playing on the quality of this format and the nostalgia it presents. Film and performance come together for this event.
